Michele De'Medici Classical Acupuncture

Welcome to de’Medici Classical Acupuncture

My interest in Wholistic Healing and acupuncture has been a life long journey. I started this journey by entering a University School of Nursing, obtaining my Bachelor of Science to become a Registered Nurse. Once in nursing I was struck by the focus of hospital nursing care being on treating the physical body, to the point of ignoring the emotional unmet needs of the patient. I found this disturbing because, the emotional/spiritual well-being of the individual plays a very crucial part in the healing process.

My specialties in nursing were Psychiatry, Obstetrics, and Home Health Care. These areas of nursing allowed for more one to one interactions, to provide emotional support as well as tend to physical needs and were very rewarding career choices for me as a nurse.

In the early 1980’s while working in the San Francisco Bay Area, I began exploring Alternative Healing Modalities, and was introduced to the concepts of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture.   As an acupuncture patient, seeking treatment for stress related issues, I had the most profound healing experiences. I decided that I wanted to study and practice this style of medicine.

Oriental Medicine is an ancient form of healing that is based on natural laws. The Acupuncturist uses fine thin needles to rebalance the energy and to assist the body in restoring this balance, thus maintaining and /or improving overall health.

I have enjoyed the study of Oriental Medicine, and am grateful for the personal growth I have experienced working in this field of medicine over the years. My original training was in 5 Element Acupuncture under the J R Worsley Schools in Columbia, Maryland and Royal Leamington Spa, England. Dr. Worsley was an inspiring Masterful lecturer and teacher. It was a rare privilege to experience his healing work and insights. Classical Acupuncture is focused on treating the original cause of imbalance in the person, it is a constitutional approach.   Balancing the energy of the whole body and treating the level of disease (disharmony), can alleviate symptoms of distress and help to balance the emotions.

Acupuncture works well in treating chronic illnesses, and functional symptoms such as: allergies, sleep disorders, digestive and elimination issues, chronic pain, depression/anxiety and other stress related problems.
